"I really enjoyed the session, Taz. You're really good at it!!! I am used to going to sensation (you probably noticed), and you did a great job bringing me back to the process we were doing, looking at the image or the word, and surrounding it, instead of staying at sensation. Quite new for me. I loved how surprised I was at some of the images and words and feelings that came up. Not at all what I would have "thought" would come up. A couple of times it was actually opposite to the 'story' I've been telling myself about some of those memories. Haha! Yay!!! This is the first time I've done something new where I felt the begining of actual and deep change. "I was very glad that Taz and I crossed paths. In my sessions I was able to make amazing breakthroughs as regards unleashing and giving a voice to parts of myself which had been frozen for many years.
A great part of my problem was my inability to express repressed feelings like rage, and when these started to come forward in our sessions I felt very self-conscious. But Taz held an unconditional space for me, and all I was met with was her loving, nonjudgemental presence. This allowed me to relax into the process, and let more and more flow out, which was very healing.
As a gay man I was particularly grateful to be able to work with her, because I have recently unearthed massive resistance to expressing parts of my personality in public. This is connected to shame and unworthiness.
